Big Milly’s Backyard is located in Kokrobite

We e-mailed Big Milly's (Wendy) and asked for a taxi to collect us in the airport. And though our plane was delayed, the taxi was there for us - thank you!. Big Milly´s i a very cosy leaned back place. And if you want European hotel standard don't go there.- We enjoyed it.

We stayed for 1 week in November 2011. The place and people is very nice as described by other guests. You should be aware of ordering dinner before 4 pm. We now think that one week is 3 days too much, because there’s really not much to do outside the (rather large) hotel area, exept from relaxing. The beautiful beach is long, but you should only walk about 100 m to the left. To the right you can walk about 300 m to the end of the beach. In the surrounding Kokrobite village we could walk a few hundred meters around the hotel. If you walk 5 min. through the village you’ll reach the tro tro stop.

We went on a nice cheap trip to Accra, in a tro tro, with one of the men, who were sewing bookmarks just outside the hotel. His name is John (Kofi). He is kind and reliable and has a good knowledge of his country. We also recommend a trip to the Monkey Sanctuary, a beautiful small natural area, with Sammy- a nice rastaman, who has a shop with woodworks just opposite the very good Italian restaurant (the Garden Restaurant). We had a really fine trip an saw a lot of monkeys and a lot of different birds. We were there around 4 pm, and at that time people from the village came to the small lake to collect clean water from a water source.

Hans Cottage Botel is located near Cape Coast

The hotel buildings are several not so pretty big blocks and need some shine up. So does the garden area. But we enjoined to take a walk on the marked off walking paths around on the rather large hotel area. There was an area with rabbits and some basins with fish breed for use in the restaurant. The room was basic but clean. The pool also looked nice and clean. The restaurant was nice we could sit outside an watch the thousands of weaver birds building their nests. We could watch, and even touch, the crocodiles of which we saw three laying on the ground. (I guess they had had a large meal before the guests were allowed to touch them). The staffs were kind and we were very satisfied with the place.
